Write the numbers from 1 to 12 in the magic star, so that the sum of four numbers on each line is always 26.​

To Find : Combination

Solution:

                             A

H               I                            J                 K

B = 1     L = 3

B + F + I  + L  = 26

=> 1  + F + I  + 3 = 26

=> F + I  = 22

F & I  are 12 & 10

if F = 12  & I = 10

Then A + C = 7  , J + K = 9

if F = 10  & I = 12

Then A + C = 9  , J + K = 7

Taking Case 1

F = 12  & I = 10

A + C = 7     2 + 5 = 7  only possible as 1 & 3 already used

C = 2 not possible hence

C = 5  , A = 2

J + K =  9   1 + 8 = 2 + 7 = 3 + 6 = 4 + 5

but 1 , 2 , 3 , 5 already used Hence not possible

Taking Case 2

F = 10  & I = 12

Then A + C = 9  , J + K = 7

J + K = 7    , 2 + 5

A + C = 9  ,  1 + 8 = 2 + 7 = 3 + 6 = 4 + 5

but 1 , 2 , 3 , 5 already used Hence not possible

so No feasible solution
