the equation for photosynthesis states that the combination of carbon dioxide,water and light energy produces a carbohydrate ( glucose) and oxygen. The chemical formula is 6CO2+ 6H2O+ light energy=C6H12O6+6O2. The only main function of chlorophyll is to give green color to leaf of the plants which helps them to prepare their food.

\mathfrak{Answer:}

Photosynthesis:

The process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize nutrients from carbon dioxide and water.

The process of photosynthesis is commonly written as:

\tt{6CO_2+6H_2O \rightarrow C_6H_{12}O_6+6O_2}

This means that the reactants, six carbon dioxide molecules and six water molecules, are converted by light energy captured by chlorophyll (implied by the arrow) into a sugar molecule and six oxygen molecules, the products.
