Gibbs energy or free energy is the max.amt of energy available to system during the process that can be put into useful work

mann35: is this is the physical significance of Gibbs
Anonymous: yes
Anonymous: ΔG < 0 reaction can spontaneously proceed to the right: A → B

ΔG > 0 reaction can spontaneously proceed to the left: A ← B

ΔG = 0 the reaction is at equilibrium; the quantities of A and B will not change
mann35: but this the definition write?
Anonymous: Gibbs free energy tells us about the feasibility of the reaction. Change in gibbs free energy gives the direction and extent of the reaction
Anonymous: If the free energy of the reactants is greater than that of the products, the entropy of the universe will increase when the reaction takes place as written, and so the reaction will tend to take place spontaneously. Conversely, if the free energy of the products exceeds that of the reactants, then the reaction will not take place in the direction written, but it will tend to proceed in the reverse direction.
Anonymous: got it?
Anonymous: pls mark it brinliest if it helpd u
