Crystallisation:- used to separate metals from its impure sample and purify it .for example- obtaining copper sulphate from its impure sample

Fractional distillation:- if there is a difference between less than 25 kelvin in the boiling point of 2 liquids then fractional ditillation is used . for example- separation of acetone and methanol
