A Triangle is a three-sided polygon that consists of three edges and three vertices and the sum of internal angles of a triangle equal to 180 degree.

Properties of triangle:

Sum of Angles of a Triangle is always 180 degrees.

The exterior angles of a triangle always add up to 360 degrees.

The sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle is greater than the length of the third side. Similarly, the difference between the lengths of any two sides of a triangle is less than the length of the third side.

The shortest side is always opposite to the smallest interior angle. Similarly, the longest side is always opposite to the largest interior angle.

                          Triangle

A closed figure which has three sides' three angles and three vertices is called triangle.

                       Properties of Triangle

  • The sums of three angles of a triangle is equal to 180°.
  • The sum of lengths of any two sides of triangle is greater than the length of third side.
  • In a triangle an exterior angle equals the sum of the two interior  opposite angles.

                         Classification of Triangle

Triangle is classified into two parts :-

1. According to their Sides

2. According to their Angles.

According to their sides, triangle is classified into three types

(i) Scalene Triangle All sides are different in length.

(ii) Isosceles Triangle Any of the two sides are equal in length.

(iii) Equilateral Triangle All the three sides are equal in length.

According to their Angle, triangle is classified into three types

(i) Acute Angled Triangle If each angle of triangle is less than 90° than it is called acute angled triangle.

(ii) Right Angled Triangle If any one angle of triangle is 90° than it is called right angled triangle

(iii) Obtuse Angle Triangle If any one angle of triangle is greater than 90° than it is called obtuse angled triangle.
