Reaction of Ethylamine with nitrous acid : Ethyl amine reacts with nitrous acid to form highly unstable diazonium salt which gives nitrogen gas and Ethyl alcohol after decomposition. Reaction of Aniline with nitrous acid : Aniline reacts with nitrous acid at low temperatures (0 – 5°C) to form diazonium salts.
