RESULTS--------------

according to it

  1. Most of the part of atom is mostly Alpha particles passed through without deflection .
  2. the positively charged particles are concentrated in a very small region that is nucleus so few Alpha particles deflect slightly and very few Alpha particles are deflected by 180° angle.
  3. as a whole atom is neutral that means number of protons are equal to number of electrons present in outer part of nucleus
  4. atomic mass according to Rutherford is not equals to total mass of proton.

LIMITATIONS--

  1. It does not explain formation of hydrogen spectrum.
  2. electron revolve around the nucleus and release energy continuously so fine electrons must be collapse in nucleus but is is not seen
