1 st three digit number = 100

100 / 7 , it leaves the remainder as 2 .

so,

102 is the 3 digit number which leaves 4 as remainder when divided by 7.

Next number :

102 + 7 = 109

so, the series will be :

102 , 109 , 116 ......

Last three digit number = 999

999 / 7 , it leaves remainder as 5 .

so,

998 is the 3 digit number which leaves 4 as remember when divided by 7.

so, the series will be :

102 , 109 , 116 ......... 998.

Here,

A = 102

D = 7

Tn = 998

n = ?

Tn = A + ( n - 1 ) D

998 = 102 + ( n - 1 ) × 7

998 - 102 = ( n - 1 ) × 7

( n - 1 ) × 7 = 896

n - 1 = 896 / 7

n - 1 = 128

n = 128 + 1

n = 129 .

So, Their will be 129 numbers.

hope it helps you mate.

Here,

Xn=998(means last term )

X1=first term(102)

D=common difference(7)

Answer.

998-102 divided by 7=128

128+1=129
