A field of biology that studies the fetal maturation of gametes (reproduction cells), pollination and growth of eggs and organisms is known as Embryology. Moreover, it also includes the study of natural diseases that emerge before birth perceived as Teratology. The base of modern embryology is the theory of von Baer, though Aldrovandi and Leonardo da Vinci legislated the scientific conclusions for this during the Renaissance Period.
