The reflex action acts as an alarm which indicates about some unnatural incidents that are going to happen. By producing sudden reflexes and quick responses it protects us from dangers and injuries.

Significance of reflex action:

  • Many times we need to respond fast. The reflexes of deep tendon of reflex arc send information to the Peripheral and Central nervous system.
  • The reflex arc is the automatic and involuntary responses of effectors which is an unconscious action and is observed through the spinal cord.
  • In human body, the deep tendon of reflex arc sends information to the Peripheral and CNS and decreased reflex stipulates problems in the Peripheral problem.
  • Plants hormones also respond to external stimuli like growing towards the light of Sun and water.
