'A legend of Northland' is an old story told from one generation to another in the extreme cold areas of Polar regions. The climate is very cold and people travel by sledges drawn by Reindeer in such areas. People have to wear so many woollen clothes that their children look like bear cubs. In such areas, a Legend is very popular. It is about Saint Peter and his curse on an old woman who was very greedy. When Saint Peter asked her to give a cake as he was very hungry, the women did not give him any. For her, the cakes for bigger to give and smaller to eat. She could not share her cakes with anybody. Not knowing that the old man was Saint Peter, she denied to give him a cake and close the doors to Heaven forever. She angered Saint Peter who converted her into a Woodpecker always struggling hard for food and shelter.
