Answer: Human heart is a muscular pump that pumps blood to different parts of the body.

It is composed of 3 layers :

1. Epicardium

2. Myocardium

3. Endocardium

Of these layers, myocardium has excitatory cells called myocytes in it.

Heart has 4 chambers, left atrium and ventricle, and right atrium and ventricle.

Auricles, or atria, collect blood from various veins and transfer blood to respective ventricles.

Ventricles are distributing chambers for blood. They have thicker walls as compared to atria because they have to throw blood to farther ends of the body.

Right ventricle throws deoxygenated blood to lungs so that CO2 from blood is thrown out.

Left ventricle throws oxygenated blood to other parts of the body where the tissues get oxygen from it.

Answer:

The blood circulation in human heart is Double Circulation. This means that blood passes through heart twice. One circulation involves entry of blood from all body parts to heart. This blood is deoxygenated which goes to lungs for oxygenation. The second circulation involves entry of oxygenated blood from lungs to heart and then to all body parts.
