They are having disc like structure.
The nucleus is rounded, bulging and centrally located.
They form a structure as that of a floor tile.
The squamous epithelium are of two types :
★ Simple Squamous tissue Stratified Squamous tissue
Location:
They form the lining of nose, pericardial cavity, blood vessels, lung alveoli, coelomic cavity etc.
They are also found in the surface of the skin.
Functions:
• Protection
• Exchange of gases
• Ultrafiltration
