The placenta is a disk like shaped structure embedded in the uterine walls in the female's body. It is strongly attached to female body with help of finger like projection's called Villi. These Villi absorb water, oxygen and other nutrients from the mother's body and enriches the embryo in the uterus. They also help in disposing the waste generated by the foetus in the uterus.
