● Explaination -
- Alkanes on dehydrogenation with sodium ethoxide (in ethanol) gives alkenes.
- In these reactions, halogen atom from α-C and H-atom from β-C is removed.

- 1-bromo-1-methylcylohexane on dehydrogenation with sodium ethoxide in ethanol gives 1-methylcyclohex-1-ene.
C6H10(Br)(CH3) ---> C6H9CH3 + HBr
