The reaction will go like,

CH3CH2CH2Cl + NaI which will be reacted and heated in the presence of acetone to form 1-lronpropane and the salt NaCl

CH3CH2CH2Cl + NaI -------- acetone or heat -- CH3CH2CH2I + NaCl

This whole reaction will fall under the category of Finkelstein reaction that will give salt as the end product.

Answer:

Explanation:

The above reaction is a special name reaction.It is known as the Finkelstein reaction.

This reaction helps in preparing alkyl iodides from alkyl chlorides or alkyl bromides.The skeleton reaction is mentioned below:

R-Cl+NaI------------->R-I+NaCl

(Above arrow, acetone and heat sign has to be given).

where R is an alkyl group. So,the product here is CH3CH2CH2I

Hope you understood
