, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea written by Jules Verne in 1870 is a  story of three  visitors to an underwater world rganzed by the mysterious Captain Nemo. From the time of their arrival on board the Nautilus,  Professor Aronnax, his loyal Conseil, and adventurous Ned Land are confused between exploring the new wonders of their surroundings and finding a way to escape from the mysterious Captain Nemo.

The three originally encountered the Nautilus in the Pacific Ocean when on an expedition to find out what species of undiscovered whale that had been damaging world shipping. However, they soon find themselves on a new kind of vessel, a submarine. From there, the three find themselves below decks, with Arronax as an honored guest of the vessel's commander, Captain Nemo.

As the book progresses, the three characters hunt underwater, fight sharks, encounter Atlantis, and fight off giant squid. However, after witnessing the sinking a warship belonging to a country that caused the death of Cptain Nemo's family, He loses his mind . He realizes even though he was trying to be different he was more like his opressors of the past .Just like them, he relied on advanced technology to gain the upper hand. In short, Nemo finds out that he's as cruel as his opponents, Causing him to go crazy . He  Guides the submarine into a whirlpool off the coast--one that no ship has ever survived. Jut when everyone seemed to be doomed ,they somehow esacpe the vessel and amazingly they emerge safely in a small dinghy. They awake in the hut of a fisherman. At the conclusion of the story, Aronnax is awaiting his return to France and rewriting his memoirs of his journey under the sea.
