To find : The supplement of an angle of measure 2y°.

 

Concept :  

Supplementary angles :  

Two angles, the sum of whose measure is 180° are called supplementary angles.

 

SOLUTION :

Since the sum of the measures of an angle and its supplement is 180°.

an angle + its supplement angle = 180°

2y°+ its supplement = 180°

∴ Its supplement = 180° – 2y°  

Hence, the supplement of an angle of measure 2y° is 180° – 2y° .

Sum of two supplementary angles is 180 degrees.

Let us conside amother angle as x.

2y+x=180

2y=180-x

y=180-x/2

y=90-x/2
