Answer:

the surface area of the following  figure is  103.62 cm^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the Diameter of the hemisphere be AB

and the center be O

Let The perpendicular be CO

As shown in the figure,

Triangle COB is a right angled triangle

CB (5) is the hypotenuse , CO(4) is the height and OB is the base

By using the Pythagoras Theorem

(hypotenuse)^{2} = (Base)^{2} + (Height)^{2}

(CB)^{2} = (OB)^{2} + (CO)^{2}

(5)^{2} = (OB)^{2} + (4)^{2}

25 =      (OB)^{2} + 16

(OB)^{2} = 25-16  = 9

OB = 3

So, The Radius of hemisphere OB = 3 cm

Curved surface area of Hemisphere = 2\pi r^{2}

                                                           = 2* 3.14 * 3 * 3 = 56.52 cm^{2}

Curved surface area of Cone = \pirl

                                                 = 3.14 * 3 * 5 = 47.1 cm^{2}

Surface Area of the given figure=

Curved surface area of Hemisphere + Curved surface area of Cone

=56.52 cm^{2} + 47.1 cm^{2}

=103.62 cm^{2}
