There are mainly two methods to study political thought :-

1. Listing the political thoughts which are considered to be classic by many renowned philosophers like Plato, Aristotle, Marx etc.

2. Applying general philosophical methodology to political matters. Taking some central concepts, problems, methods, questions and so on from classic political thought.


In this way basic of relative importance by providing a comprehensive, coherent and general account of political thought can be taken out.
