There are three types of connective tissues :

  • Proper Connective Tissue :

Proper connective tissues are of two types :

- Loose connective tissue : It is a loose and cellular connective tissue. This tissue is found between the skin and the muscles in the bine morrow. It fills space between different tissues and organs. It's also called packing tissue.

- Dense Connective Tissue : It's a fibrous connective tissue. It is also known as the cheif component of the ligaments and tendons. Sprain is caused by excessive pulling of ligaments. Tendons are strong non - elastic structures that join skeletal muscles to bones.

  • Skeletal connective Tissue : These form the endoskeleton of the body of vertebrates.

  • Fluid connective tissue : This tissue links the different parts of the body and mainatins continuity in the body. It includes blood and lymph.

- Blood has a fluid matrix called plasma in which the RBC's, WBC's and the platelets are present.

-Lymph is the fluid that flows through the lymphatic system.
