Nylon 2-Nylon 6 is a Biodegradable polymer. It is an alternating copolymer of glycine(H2N−CH2−COOH)(H2N−CH2−COOH) and amino caproic acid [H2N(CH2)5COOH][H2N(CH2)5COOH] and hence copolymer and polyamide.

Uses:

1. Nylon is very strong fibre. It is stronger than the steel wire that is why it is used to make ropes and parachutes and tooth brush bristles

2. Nylon is also used as dressing material in shirts etc

3.Nylon can be used as the matrix material in composite materials.Such thermoplastic composites are frequently used in car components next to the engine, such as intake manifolds, where the good heat resistance of such materials makes them feasible competitors to metals.
