we have ,

p(x) = 5x^2 - x = 0

So, D = b^2 - 4ac

= ( -1 )^2 - 4 *5*0

= 1 - 0

= 1 and.

p(x)=5x^2-x=0 \\ \\ \\ a=5 \\ \\ b=-1 \\ \\ c=0 \\ \\ \\ b^2-4ac \\ \\ \Rightarrow\ (-1)^2-(4 \times 5 \times 0) \\ \\ \Rightarrow\ 1-0 \\ \\ \Rightarrow\ \bold{1}

$$So the discriminant is$\ \bold{1}. \\ \\ \\ $Hope this helps. Plz ask me if you've any doubts. \\ \\ \\ Thank you. :-))$ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \#adithyasajeevan
