GIVEN :

diameter of cone = d

height of cone = h

TO FIND :

The volume of the cone.

FORMULA USED :

Radius = diameter/2

V =  \frac{1}{3}  \times \pi \times  {r}^{2}  \times h

where :-

  • r = radius
  • h= height

SOLUTION :

It is given that :- diameter of cone = d

therefore radius = d/2

Now , to find volume of cone we will use the formula :-

V =  \frac{1}{3}  \times \pi \times  {r}^{2}  \times h

put r = d/2

V =  \frac{1}{3}  \times \pi \times  {( \frac{d}{2}) }^{2}  \times h

V =  \frac{1}{12}  \times \pi \times  {d}^{2}  \times h

V =  \frac{1}{12}   \pi   {d}^{2}  h

ANSWER :

V =  \frac{1}{12}   \pi   {d}^{2}  h

where , V = volume of the given cone.
