Hola friend!! ✋✋
Rajdeep here!!
A transformer is a device which alters the alternative electro motive force (emf).
A transformer works on the principle of Electromagnetic induction. When there is a change of magnetic flux linked with the coil, an emf is induced in the coil.
Two coils are made...one is primary coil and the other is secondary coil.
If it is a step up transformer, then the primary coil has less number of turns...the AC current is passed into the primary coil. The magnitude of current is increased and we get more current from the secondary coil, which has more number of turns than the primary coil.
If it is a step down transformer, then the primary coil has more number of turns...the AC current is passed into the primary coil. The magnitude of current is decreased and we get less current from the secondary coil, which has less number of turns than the primary coil.
Thanks!!
