write the zeroes of the polynomial x^2 -2x+4

a = 1 , b = -2 , c = 4

D = b^2-4ac
D = (-2)^2 - 4(1)(4)
D = 4 - 16
D = -12

No ..it is not a real root.

 x -  \sqrt{3 }   +  1\: and \\ x  +  \sqrt{3 }  - 1
