zero of any equation means that if we put that value in place of variable so we get answer is zero.

therefore, we consider

(x)²-x-6=0
x²-3x+2x-6=0
x(x-3)+2(x-3)
(x+2)(x-3)
x=(-2) ,x=(3)

Hope it helps u!

for the zero of the polynomial, we can follow the following expression
x^2-x-6=0
x^2+2x-3x-6=0
x(x+2)-3 (x+2) =0
(x+2) (x-3) =0
hence the zeros of the given polynomial is -2 and 3
