WHAT ARE CHROMOPLASTS?

◼Chromoplasts (also known as plastids) produce and store pigments-colors.

◼They are found in flowers, leaves, roots and fruits, and contain carotenoids, which lend color to the tissues containing them.

◼Chloroplasts would be one type of chromoplast but, chromoplast is usually used to designate only pigmented plastids other than chlorophyll.

Swetha02: Main feature of chloroplast is to prepare food for the plant.
