3x + y = 12
3x = 12 - y
x = 12 - y ÷ 3
x = 4 - y
y + x = 4
so we can't assume x and y as 2 and 2 . because when it is 2 then it assume same variable but it is x and y , different variable .
so we can assume 1 and 3 . let see
3x + y = 12
3×3+1=12

sanchitgeorge17: it is wrong

Answer:

hii

buddy here is your answer

Step-by-step explanation:

3x + y = 12

3x = 12 - y

x = 12 - y ÷ 3

x = 4 - y

y + x = 4

so we can't assume x and y as 2 and 2 . because when it is 2 then it assume same variable but it is x and y , different variable .

so we can assume 1 and 3 . let see

3x + y = 12

3×3+1=12

(3,4) is not a solution for that equation

since 3(3)+4 is not equal to 12....
