TIME AND METHOD OF SOWING FOR AUTUMN SUGARCANE :  

Perfect time of planting autumn sugarcane is 20 September – 20 October.  

In autumn sugarcane, only ⅔ rd top portion of the  canes should be used as seed.  

For one acre land we can use 20,000 three-budded sets or 15,000 four-budded sets or 12,000 five-budded sets. For one acre land on weight basis,we can use 30-35 quintals of seed .Planting of seed should be done in rows 90 cm apart.
