HEYA!!!!
CALCINATION:-
THE PROCESS OF EXTRACTING THE MINERAL FROM CARBONATE ORE HEATED BELOW ITS MELTING POINT IN THE ABSENCE OF AIR TO CONVERT INTO METAL OXIDE.
FOR EXAMPLE ZINC CARBONATE.
2) ROASTING:-
ROASTING IS A PROCESS IN WHICH ORE IS HEATED IN PRESENCE OF OXYGEN BEFORE ITS MELTING POINT AND CONVERTED INTO METAL OXIDE.
FOR EXAMPLE ZINC SULPHIDE.
ROASTING IS DONE 4 SULPHIDE ORE.
AND CALCINATION IS DONE FOR CARBONATE ORE.
HOPE IT HELPES!!!!
THANKS

calcenation and roasting, both are methods of extraction of metals.
calcenation is used for extracting metals from their carbonates ores.
on the other hand,
roasting is used for extracting metals from their sulphide ores.
the main difference is:
calcenation takes place in ABSENCE OF OXYGEN
while,
roasting takes place in PRESENCE OF OXYGEN......
