Rate =k[A]n or r = k an …(i)=k[A]n or r = k an …(i)

When volume of vessel is doubled, molar concentration is halved. As rate becomes, half, therefore,

r2=k(a2)n ...(ii)r2=k(a2)n ...(ii)

Dividing (i) by (ii), we get 2=2n or n=1
