Write two differences : BOD and COD.

COD is the amount of oxygen required to chemically breakdown the pollutants whereas BOD is the amount of oxygen required to do this biologically through micro-organisms.

COD is usually measured and the test is simple and easy to perform with the right equipment and can be done in 2 hours.

BOD usually takes 5 days.
