It inhibits the growth in plants.
Inhibits the synthesis of Kinetin nucleotide.

IN ANIMALS:

It is found and present in metazoans from sponges to mammals.

 In mammalian cells a abscisic acid targets a protein known as lanthionine synthetase , triggering an alternative mechanism of activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma.
