People were fighting for their rights, getting aware and spreading awareness as well. They had started to get to know about the world that existed outside their kingdom.

Two features of society before the 18th century were

1. The dowry system was very prevalent and women were considered to be a burden. Women were inferior to men and men used to dominate the world

2. Most of the countries had rulers in the form of kings or colonisers who dominated the people and controlled all laws for their benefit.
