The second battle of Tarain (1192) is regarded as one of the turning points of Indian history.

In the first place, the Muslim occupation in India resulting from the victory of Muhammad Ghori in the second battle of Tarain could never be wiped out in the future.

Secondly, the second battle of Tarain showed clearly the political and military weaknesses of the Indian princes. Disunity among the Indian princes in the face of foreign aggression cost them very dearly.

Prithviraj was defeated by Ghori in the Second Battle of  Tarain. This battle is believed to be a turning point in the history of India. Mohammad Ghori, who had come from Ghor in Afghanistan had inflicted a crushing  defeat on Prithviraj Chauhan in the Second Battle of Tarain ( 1192 CE) establishing the  beginning of Muslim rule in India.
