Roots of different plants are modified in many different ways.

=> Root Modifications:-

→ For multiplication:- Some roots of plants such as asparagus are modified in such a way that they can develop into new plants.

→ For nutrition:- Few Plants have specialized roots called parasitic roots which arise from the stem of the plant, this will help them to absorb nutrition from the soil.

→ For climbing:-  Some plants have climbing roots which help the plant to climb for support on different things such as a rock, tree, etc.

→ For extra support:- Roots of plants such as peepal tree usually give out some extra roots from their branches. These roots grow through downwards to the land/soil and give extra support to the stem of the plant.
