Given:-

5x + y = 1

To Find:-

solutions of x and y

Explanation:-

5x + y = 1

x + y =  \frac{1}{5}

x = \frac{1-y}{5}

Now you can put any value for y to get value of x

Solution - 1

let y be 0

x = \frac{1-0}{5}

x = \frac{1}{5}

so x = \frac{1}{5}  and y = 0

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Solution - 2

let y be 1

x =  \frac{1-1}{5}

x = \frac{0}{5}

x = 0

so x = 0 and y = 1

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Solution - 3

let y be -1

x = \frac{1- (-1 )}{5}

x = \frac{1+1}{5}

x = \frac{2}{5}

so x = \frac{2}{5} and y = -1

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By Putting Random Values of y, you can get infinite Solutions

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note:- Linear Equation in two variables has infinite solutions, so you get many solutions, whereas in Linear Equation in one variable has only 1 solution.

Hope It Helps You ! :D    ^_^
