Write types of solids on the basis of binding forces.Write the answers of the given question in short.

Solids can be classified on the basis of the bonds that hold the atoms or molecules together. This approach categorizes solids as either molecular, covalent, ionic, or metallic.
On the basis of binding forces, solids can be distinguished into four categories.
1. Ionic – it consists of positive and negative ions present together by electrostatic forces .
2. Molecular – it consists of solid particles (atoms & molecules) held together either by dipole interactions, London dispersion forces or hydrogen bonds .
3. Metallic – it consists of metal atoms with uniform distribution of atomic nuclei under metallic bonding with many different properties .
4. Network – it is formed by chains (network) of atoms and molecules held closely by covalent bonds .
The above mentioned categories can be classified as per the presence of atoms and molecules of solid particles either in loose presence, tight presence and random presence.
