Chinku was a very naughty boy. He always acted beyond his age and never listened to his parents. He liked to show himself to be a brave boy whenever he had his friends around.
It was a kite season. All his friends gathered on the terrace of his house. Chinku too had his share of kites. The children were all excited to fly kites. All of them competed with each other as whose kite will fly the highest. Chinku, as always, was in high spirits. He tried to show off himself saying, “Friends, let us have a bet! Whoever’s kite flies highest and remains so for a long time will be treated by others”. His friends agreed. All except one boy’s kites were cut off. Lastly, it was the competition between the boy and Chinku. To show his smartness Chinku got over the parapet wall of the terrace, while the other children looked at him with shock and fear. Chinku boasted off, “Hey friends! cool! This is the way we have to fly our kites. Then only it flies far high. Let me show you how I” Some boys stopped him, “Hey Chinku, don’t do that. You will fall down and get hurt…. children like us should not do so!” Chinku chuckled, “Hey, I’m not a child.” Then he got on the wall and started flying the kite. The kite reached very high altitude and started looking small. Chinku in a moment forgot that he had been standing on the wall. He slipped and fell down with a thud on the grass surface nearly 8 feet down, on the ground. His friends shrieked in fear. Chinku’s right arm and right leg were fractured.
