he wanted to meet Stephen Hawking because Stephen Hawking was an inspiration for the poet. As the writer was suffering from a disorder known as brittle bones but though he was a journalist in the same way Stephen Hawking was also suffering from paralysis though he was awell known scientist of his time , that's why hy te poet wanted to meet him.
