Writing a short story
Given below is the basic outline of a story with a beginning, middle and end. Use this structure
to develop a story in 150-200 words. Make your story interesting by including a setting and an
interesting title.

BEGINNING: Mayur returns to his hometown after many years. He has been looking forward
to taking a walk through some woods that are near his parents' house.
MIDDLE: Mayur remembers a stream that used to flow close to the path. In the old days
it used to be filthy and smelly because of waste from a limestone quarry. Mayur makes
his way to it to realise that the stream is clean now. He follows it back to see that the old
limestone quarry has changed.
END: He researches the area using old issues of a local newspaper. A while after he left, the
locals had protested against the quarry and forced it to shut down.

Mayur returns to his hometown after many years. He has been looking forward to take a round walking through some woods that is near his parent's house . Just that time he meets his one of the old friend Myra. He meet her after 8 years he was so happy to see her back. He decides to take her for the round and to make how make to a parent's. She says that she is not free she wants to go to pick her parents and go for tuitions , Mayur become sad. So they both left on there own path.Mayur remembers a stream that used to flow close to the path. In the old days it used to be filthy and smelly because of waste from a limestone quarry. Mayur makes his way to it to realise that the stream is clean now. He follows it back to see that the old limestone quarry has changed. But unfortunately no, it was same like before. Mayur become sad this is completing same like that. He sees around him and what everyone is littering . Looking

at this he became sad very sad. So he decides to get a dustbin and place it over there
