At present days, games and sports have been recognized as the principal part of our education. Games and sports have great role and importance. These have great impact on both our body and mind. They keep us physically fit and help us to enjoy the blessings of good health. We know that there remains a healthy brain in a healthy body. Games and sports help to develop our character. By this means we are taught the virtue of discipline. These are played under some definite rules and captains and supervisors are there to see that nobody breaks rules or goes out of those. Games and sports encourage the regular participants to take any defeat in a sportsman-like spirit. To achieve success in games the players should co-operate with one another and look to the interest of the team as a whole and not to their personal credit. Thus they learn the quality of unselfish team work and co-operative spirit. Some other qualities like quickness of decision and movement, keen observation power and sufficient mental strength are developed though sports and games.
