Thirteen years later, a man of forty-eight, holding the hand of a beautiful young woman was walking on the streets of India. The woman looked at distance. Her eyes were full of dirty hatred and rage but she kept walking with him. The man, roughly aware of his companion's intentions, held onto her hands like a support for his old age. He breathed out a deep satisfied breath and it reeked of alcohol. They went on walking as the rain started pouring heavily.
The next day, the man woke up from his slumber and received a hand-written note beside his bed. He already knew what had happened. He guessed it all along but he was afraid to admit it. Trembling with premonition, he read the note distastefully.
That was it. She left. His wife of twenty finally had managed to escape the prison of marriage and joined a new freedom. He remembered the previous night. It was strange and rainy.
Finally, he remembered his father's crying eyes begging him to stay. He felt that. And it was a moment lost forever.
