Once there lived a man, who had nothing to do. So, he thought of reflecting upon everything that
he knew and asserts its truth.
He knew that the Earth was round. If one began to walk in a straight line, the person would come
] back to the same point from where he started. So, he decided to test this bit of knowledge.
So, from his desk where he was sitting, he decided to start walking straight. However, the
moment he crossed his house, he came another house. He knew that if he goes around this
house, then he might lose his way. He has to but only walk straight. So, he went back to his desk
and started making a list for his journey.
He needed a long ladder to jump over the house. He needed a rope to climb over the trees that
might come in his way and so on and on. Now, he had everything on the list to start his journey
again, but he realised that beyond the forest is a river. So, he might also need a boat. But to carry
the boat he needed the cart and to carry all the things he had assembled for his journey, he
needed a crane.
So, on his needs kept increasing. He wrote out the entire expenditure to buy all the items on the
list. He realised that all this needed a lot of money and this made him sad. Also, by now he had
become old. So, he realised that he can neither buy all these things nor carry all of them. So, he
decided to simply believe that the Earth was round.
