Explanation:

x/2+2y/3=-1

Take LCM of both the equations

3x+4y/6=-1

3x+4y=-6

x-y/3=3

3x-y/3=3

3x-y=9

Using elimination method,

3x+4y=-6

3x-y=9

-. +. -

_____________

5y=-15

y=-3

Putting value of y in 3x-y=9

3x-(-3)=9

3x+3=9

3x=6

x=2
