x -  \sqrt{2}  = 0 \\ x =  \sqrt{2}

Now,

7x {}^{2}  - 4 \sqrt{2} x - 6 \\  \\ substitute \: the \: value \: of \: x \: in \: the \: above \: equation \\  \\ 7( \sqrt{2}) {}^{2}   - 4 \sqrt{2} ( \sqrt{2} ) - 6 \\ 7 \times 2 - 4 \times 2 - 6 \\ 14 - 8 - 6  \\  14 - 14 \\  = 0
