Answer:

x (2x + 5) = 3

2x × x + 5x = 3

2x² + 5x = 3

2x² + 5x - 3 = 0

2x² - 6x + 1x - 3 = 0

2x (x - 3x) + 1 (x - 3) = 0

(x - 3) (2x + 1) = 0

So, x - 3 = 0

x = 0 + 3

x = 3

AND

2x + 1 = 0

2x = 0 - 1

2x = - 1

x = -1/2

Hence the answers are 3 and - 1/2

Answer:

2x^{2}   + 5x = 3 \\ 2x ^{2}  + 5x - 3 = 0 \\ 2x ^{2}  + 6x - x - 3 = 0 \\ 2x(x  + 3) - 1(x + 3) = 0 \\ (2x - 1)(x + 3) = 0 \\ 2x - 1 = 0

2 x = 1 \\ x = 1 \div 2 \\ x = 0.5

or

x + 3 = 0 \\ x =  - 3
