\textbf{Answer :}

Given that,

x + 2y = 11 ...(i)
2x - y = 2 ...(ii)

Now, multiplying (i) by 2 and (ii) by 1, we get

2x + 4y = 22
2x - y = 2

On subtraction, we get

4y + y = 22 - 2

⇒ 5y = 20

⇒ y = 4

Now, putting y = 4 in (i), we get

x + 2 (4) = 11

⇒ x + 8 = 11

⇒ x = 11 - 8

⇒ x = 3

∴ the required solution be

x = 3 and y = 4
