Lets eliminate fractions .

we do this by multiplying both sides with 2y.

Doing this we have :

x/2y  × 2y = 2 × 2y

The 2y on the left hand side cancels out and we remain with x as follows :

x = 4y

the answer is thus :

x = 4y
